Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – Representative Darius K. Kila is reminding the public that the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) is accepting comments on its draft Energy Security and Waste Reduction Plan until Sunday, August 31.

“If you haven’t already, please take a moment to review this important plan and share your feedback,” said Representative Darius K. Kila, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation. “HDOT graciously extended the deadline because public input is essential in identifying immediate actions to reduce transportation emissions, developing a roadmap to achieve the State’s net-negative emissions target by 2045, and ultimately reaching zero emissions in the transportation sector. This plan impacts everyone, and it’s critical that voices from all communities are heard.”

How the Public Can Participate:

Members of the public are encouraged to review the plan and submit comments via the HDOT platform. Review the plan here: HDOT Draft Energy Security and Waste Reduction Plan
