REP. KILA'S STATEMENT REGARDING HFD ACTION ON WESTSIDE FIRES

Nānākuli, Hawaiʻi – Representative Darius K. Kila (D-44, Honokai Hale, Nānākuli, Mā‘ili) issued the following statement today:

"On behalf of the Waiʻanae Coast, I applaud the Honolulu Fire Department's swift response yesterday to contain the fire in Mākaha, and their continued action this morning to fight a wildland fire in Nānākuli.

It is with gratitude that I fully trust and believe our Fire Department is comprehensive and capable of fighting fires to keep communities safe across Oʻahu. Through their immediate action, they demonstrated that we have well-executed systems in place during an emergency, and that our first responders are equipped and ready to respond.

I commend and honor the brave first responders who continually put themselves in harm's way to keep the Westside safe."
