Puna, Hawaiʻi – Vice Speaker Greggor Ilagan (D-4 Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaiian Beaches, Nānāwale Estates, Leilani Estates) issued the following statement to his colleagues in the House of Representatives:
"Today is the 5th anniversary of the 2018 historic Kīlauea eruption. I would like to thank this body for its support and its continued efforts in the renewal of a vital and prosperous community in Puna. Five years later, as we move forward, we need to remember that our community is still in the process of healing and growth, and many families are still struggling. They still need roads back to their homes, water, and restoration of farms, housing, and basic infrastructure. I'm very thankful to the House and our partners who continue to support the recovery of my Puna community."
