HOUSE COMMITTEE ON HEALTH & HOMELESSNESS INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING ON THE HAWAIʻI PREPAID HEALTH CARE ACT

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – On Wednesday, the House Committee on Health & Homelessness (HLT) will hold an informational briefing to provide an overview of the history of the Hawaiʻi Prepaid Health Care Act, its requirements, and the regulatory framework that has been in place for nearly fifty years ensuring access to affordable health care for Hawaiʻi's residents and families.


Additionally, the briefing will provide an overview of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the exemption for Hawaiʻi's Prepaid Health Care Act, the enactment and implementation of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also referred to as the Affordable Care Act or "ACA", and how these laws interact with Hawaiʻi's Prepaid Health Care Act.
