Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – Three members of the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives – Ty J.K. Cullen, Henry J.C. Aquino and Ryan T. Yamane – along with several donors and volunteers, distributed 285 gallons of Aloha Hand Sanitizer to five Leeward Oahu District public schools on Friday, July 31.
The schools include Kaleiopuʻu, Honowai, Waikele, Waipahu and August Ahrens elementary schools.
Donny Kadokawa, owner of Aloha Hand Sanitizer, donated the sanitizer and hand pumps and helped distributed the product to the schools. Other donors and volunteers include Alexander & Baldwin, HawaiiUSA FCU, Bayer-Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Crop Improvement Association, Village Park Community Association, Hawaiʻi Logistics Services and the Waipahu Community Association.
"The staff and families of Kaleiopuʻu (Elementary School) are so grateful for our community partners," said Principal Alika Ahu. "The support that they give us always helps to enrich the learning of our students. We are especially thankful during this uncertain time because of how difficult it is to acquire sanitizing items to keep our students safe. On behalf of the Kaleiopuʻu Ohana, mahalo and stay safe!"
Representative Cullen said he is proud to be part of this project to provide much needed hand sanitizer for our students, staff and faculty at these local schools.
"It was humbling to see the support of our community come together to protect our keiki in our schools and classrooms," said Cullen.
